Getting To New Zealand
Flying To New Zealand
The easiest way to reach Pahi from overseas is to fly into Auckland International Airport (AKL). Auckland is well connected to Australia and other major international destinations, making it a convenient gateway to the Coromandel Peninsula.
From Auckland, most guests hire a car and drive to Colville. If you're arriving after a long international flight, we'd recommend staying overnight in Auckland before continuing your journey — it gives you time to rest, adjust to the time difference and enjoy the drive without rushing.
On The Road
Driving
Hiring a car gives you the freedom to explore the Coromandel before or after your walk and is the most popular way to reach Colville. The drive from Auckland Airport takes approximately 3 hours, following a scenic route through rolling countryside before reaching the dramatic coastline of the Coromandel Peninsula.
The roads become narrower and more winding as you travel further north, so allow extra time and avoid relying solely on the estimated arrival time shown by your navigation app. Many guests turn the drive into part of their New Zealand holiday, stopping in Thames or Coromandel Town along the way.
International visitors should remember that New Zealanders drive on the left. Roads can be hilly, narrow and winding, so distances may take longer than expected. Driving To Colville
Your Pahi experience begins in Colville Village, where you'll leave your vehicle and board the shuttle to Pahi Station.
Day One Meeting Point
Hike 'n Bike Coromandel 76 Wharf Road, Colville Arrival time: 8:45am Secure parking is available for the duration of your walk.From Colville, the shuttle will transport you to Pahi Station. You'll arrive at approximately 10:15am for freshly brewed coffee, homemade morning tea and your welcome briefing before setting off on Day One. Please arrive on time, as the shuttle needs to depart promptly.

These times are a guide only and don't include stops, traffic or delays. The final stretch between Coromandel Town and Colville follows a beautiful but winding coastal road — allow plenty of time, take regular breaks and enjoy the journey rather than trying to rush. Check current travel times, weather and road conditions before departure.
The Night Before
Where should I stay before my walk?
We strongly recommend arriving in the area the day before your walk and staying overnight. This gives you time to enjoy the journey, settle in and arrive at the Colville meeting point by 8:45am without feeling rushed.
Auckland
A convenient option for the night you arrive in New Zealand on an afternoon or evening international flight.
Please note Auckland is too far away for the night immediately before your walk — plan to be in Coromandel Town or Colville that night, ready to meet us in Colville by 8:45am.
Coromandel Town
A charming seaside town with accommodation, cafés, restaurants, galleries and shops.
Located approximately 30 minutes from Colville, Coromandel Town is a convenient base for the night before your walk and allows you to enjoy the final coastal drive in the morning.
Colville
The closest option to the Day One meeting point and ideal if you'd prefer an easy, relaxed start.
Staying in or near Colville means you'll have only a short journey before meeting the shuttle at 8:45am.

The journey to Pahi is the perfect opportunity to explore more of the Coromandel Peninsula. Depending on how much time you have, consider adding:
