DAY 01

Key info for day one:

  • Bring your own packed lunch.
  • Morning tea, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert are provided.
  • Total walk = 10km
  • Approximate guide for length of walk = 3 – 5 hours
Join us in Colville village at 9.30am where you will meet the shuttle to take you for a scenic coastal drive to Port Jackson. There is secure parking for your car provided.

Delicious morning tea and coffee awaits you at Pahi Station homestead.

A briefing with our friendly host will set the scene for what is in store for the next 3 days/2 nights, before you set off on your first day’s walk around the western coast of the farm.

You will cover grassland and traverse native bush. Incredible views back to Auckland, Waiheke and the Hibiscus Coast will welcome you before you reach a high point of 550 meters, where you can see the whole tip of the Coromandel Peninsula.

You will then descend to finish your day’s walk meandering along the river to your first night’s accommodation at the Pahi Retreat.

Accommodation

Night one is spent at Pahi Retreat, a beautifully restored rustic cottage tucked away on the farm overlooking the Pahi Stream and our favourite swimming hole.

This recently renovated cottage has a wonderful sense of history and authentic farmhouse feel to it. All that will disturb you here is the native birdsong. This six-bedroom, three-bathroom cottage with separate kitchen and lounge features a fireplace and is the perfect accommodation to relax and review your first day.

You are nestled in your own sanctuary, where you can sit on the front lawn looking out onto a clear running boulder stream, soak up the stunning ocean views, or peruse the farm that surrounds you

DAY 02

Key info for day two:

  • Breakfast, lunch, morning and afternoon tea, dinner and dessert are provided
  • Total walk = optional 12km or 19 km.
  • Approximate guide for length of walk = 5 – 7 hours

Day two has two walk options – a 12km option or a 19km walk with a steeper gradient (and amazing views!)

Head up the main farm track on a pleasant gradual incline. The 19km option reaches the highest point of the walk at 600m above sea level.

Cross over onto the east coast where you head downhill to the Shepherd’s Hut, a corrugated iron hut used by the shepherds right up until the 1970’s.

Walk down to the white sands of Maloney’s Beach nestled under the Pinnacles for a delightful lunch-stop, or carry on to Fletchers Bay.

From Fletchers Bay you will walk through the farmland with constant sea views to Port Jackson. Your day will end walking along the headland to the end of the Port Jackson beach to your second night’s accommodation.

Delicious home baking will be available for your snacks during the day, and you will prepare your lunch in the morning from food provided in your accommodation. Dinner will be prepared for you and waiting when you arrive at Shearer’s Quarters.

Accommodation

Night Two sees your group nestled into Pahi’s Shearer’s Quarters. This authentic farmhouse property is located in Port Jackson Bay with uninterrupted sea views.

This charming 6-bedroom, 3-bathroom cottage features wrap-around decks with an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. It’s the perfect spot to soak up the expansive views and soothing peace and quiet.

E-BIKE ADD ON

Fancy adding a day of E-biking to your Pahi Coastal Walk experience?

There is an easy ride of 30 km available that takes you back along the coast from Port Jackson to Colville.

Most of this road, which follows the coast, is metal and an easy ride, so you can savour the incredible scenery and time chatting with your party.

Stop for a picnic to enjoy your lunch, or make the most of the unlimited photo opportunities.

We also have extra trails available in Colville for those that are keen to extend their biking adventure.

This option is not available in January.
E-bike cost is from $95 per person.   Bring your own bike is from $25 per bike

This option may require you leave at a certain time (e.g. by 8 am) in the morning to miss traffic
